Arnie Somogyi is one of the UK’s leading jazz bass players as well as composer, bandleader and educater.Arnie studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London after playing jazz whilst studying English at Bristol University.

Arnie Somogyi has played with many of the world’s top jazz musicians including Steve Grossman, James Moody, Bobby Hutcherson, Annie Ross and Claire Martin, Art Farmer, Joey Calderazzo and Bud Shank. He has also featured on over 30 albums with leading talents including Urban Species, Galliano, Omar, Chris Botti and The Verve’s Richard Ashcroft.

Currently he works regularly at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club in the resident trio, also working there with his own group Ambulance with gained exceptional aclaim for a week with trumpeter Eddie Henderson.

Arnie has also presented two BBC Radio 4 ‘road-movie-for-radio’ documentaries about Eastern Europe.
